The Quality First Scholarship Program seeks to truly make a positive impact in our employees’ lives. In honor of the passing of our beloved co-founder and CEO, Bobby Boeneke, the Quality First Scholarship Program was created. Those who knew Bobby remember that he was committed to his employees and their families. He was a champion for education and self-improvement – dedicating many hours to help train future business entrepreneurs and leaders at the Florida State University College of Business. The program offers a scholarship to employees' children based on financial need and academic performance, as well as community involvement and leadership.

Minimum qualifications for the Bobby Boeneke Quality First Scholarship Program are:

• Applicant must be the dependent of a full-time. employee of Residential Elevators at the time of application.

• Applicant must be a current high school senior, or a current college freshman, sophomore or junior planning to enroll as a full-time undergraduate student in the fall of the current year

• Applicant must attend an accredited, two-or four-year college/university or technical school

• Applicant's parent/legal guardian must be a Residential Elevators employee for at least one year as of the application deadline and must be an active employee at the time the scholarship is awarded.

Who is eligible to apply?

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria to be eligible for this scholarship:

·      You must be a high school senior, college freshman, college sophomore or college junior planning to enroll as a full-time undergraduate student in the fall of the current year.

·      You must be a dependent of a full-time employee of Residential Elevators at the time of application.

·      Your parent must have been employed by Residential Elevators for at least one year as of the application deadline.

·      Your parent must be employed with Residential Elevators at the time awards are announced.

·      If an employee has several children who are eligible for the award, all eligible children may apply. Each child must apply separately and their applications will be judged individually.

 

When is the deadline?

March 31, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time – There will be no exceptions.

 

What are the details of the award?

·      One scholarship in the amount of $2,500 (USD) will be awarded annually and is not renewable.

·      The scholarship may be applied to tuition, fees, books, supplies and equipment required for course load.

·      Students may reapply each year as long as they continue to meet the eligibility criteria.

·      Institutions must be accredited, two- or four-year colleges/universities or vocational schools in the United States. On-line programs do not qualify.

·      Payment will be made directly to the school.

 

What are the selection criteria?

·    A selection committee will evaluate the applications and select the winner.

·    The committee will consider:

.    Academic achievements and records (GPA 2.5 or Higher)

.    Extracurricular activities including community involvement, work experience, and honors and awards received

.    Short essay response

.    Financial need

 

I have several potential school choices. Which one should I list on the application?

 

You should list your first choice on the application. If you are chosen to receive an award, it will be your

responsibility to make certain Residential Elevators is aware of your final school choice so that your check can be issued accordingly.

 

How and when will I receive notification?

·      Winner will be notified by April 5th.

·      Winner and non-winner notifications will be sent by email.

·      Please ensure your email address is accurate at the submission of your application.

·      Add HumanResources@residentialelevators.com to your email address book or “safe senders list” so these important emails are not sent to your junk mail folder.

 

Note: Your email address and phone number will only be used to communicate with you about your

scholarship application.  We will not provide your email address or phone number to any third-parties. Decisions of the selection committees are final and are not subject to appeal. No application feedback will be given.

 

What are my responsibilities if I am chosen as a recipient?

·      It is your responsibility to read ALL emails from Residential Elevators completely throughout the review process and respond accordingly. You must also accept the award by the deadline provided if chosen as a winner. No exceptions will be made.

·      You must enroll as a full-time undergraduate in the fall of the current year at an accredited non-profit two- or four year institution or vocational school in the United States.

·      If you are named as a winner and choose to go to an institution that does not meet the nonprofit

or accreditation requirements, your award will be forfeited.

·      You must deliver your scholarship check(s) to the proper office at your institution. You must complete the school term or your family will be expected to repay the scholarship.

 

How and when is payment issued?

·      Check will be made payable to the institution only.

·      Check will be issued in August.

·      It is the recipient’s responsibility to notify Residential Elevators should the check not arrive within 30 days of the issue date.

 

Where and when should I send my supporting documents?

·      Upload your required documents online in PDF format. If you do not follow the instructions exactly, your application may not be considered.

·      Your submission must be complete by the deadline; therefore, last minute submissions are strongly discouraged.

 

Are scholarships taxable?

Tax laws vary by country. In the United States, scholarship funds used exclusively for the payment of tuition or textbooks are normally not taxable. The scholarship recipient is responsible for taxes, if any, that may be assessed against your scholarship award. We recommend consulting your tax advisor for more guidance.
